Electronic Recycling and Donations
According to the EPA, over 300 million pounds of computer products are disposed of each year in the US, and only 18% of them are recycled. Also, around 80 % of the e-waste in the U.S. is exported to Asia and Africa.  Electronic products are made from valuable resources, including precious and other metals, engineered plastics, glass, and other materials, all of which require energy to source and manufacture. On average, Major computer makers currently recycling rate just 9 percent of products, according to GreenPeace. But there are ways to combat this excessive waste, through recycling and donations of used computer and electronic equipment. In fact, recycling one million laptops saves the energy equivalent to the electricity used by 3,657 US homes in a year.
We have complied information about recycling and donations programs in different areas, so that you can take advantage of the opportunity to recycle or donate in your area.
